Video was taken by me, Elena Palagka Ned's trainer, during Ned's training at 4 paws for ability( non profit organizationin U.S.A - OHIO which provides service dogs to children with disabilities) Balance-mobility harnesses can be custom made in order to suit perfectly the needs of the person depending on his disability,height,weight e.t.c Training process needs time and the dog has to get use to the harness and be able to work and assist the person happilly even when he puts pressure on the dog.
Ο Γιώργος Σταθούλης Ελληνοαμερικάνος από το Λός Άντζελες επισκέφθηκε το κέντρο αποκατάστασης ANIMUS στο οποίο νοσηλεύεται η Ασπασία και έζησε την εμπειρία της συνάντησης, του πρώτου ελληνικού σκύλου βοηθού για άτομα με αναπηρίες , με την Ασπασία για την οποία προορίζεται.Αν και στην Αμερική ο κόσμος είναι εξοικειωμένος με τους σκύλους βοηθούς , οι οποίοι υπάρχουν και εκπαιδεύονται για άτομα με αναπηρίες εδώ και 30 χρόνια , στην Ελλάδα ο πρώτος σκύλος βοηθός Μάικ ξεκινάει τώρα.
Ο Μάικ ο πρώτος σκύλος βοηθός για άτομα με αναπηρίες στην Ελλάδα εκπαιδεύεται από την Έλενα Παλάγκα ,εκπαιδεύτρια σκύλων βοηθών για παιδιά και ενήλικες με ορατές και αόρατες αναπηρίες(Nina Service Dogs) για την Ασπασία Μπόγρη που πυροβολήθηκε από τον ίδιο της τον πατέρα. We practice ''touch'' command with Nina. Nina knows that the fake baby that we use for training purposes, is the target! Touch can be a fun trick for movie/actor dogs but also an important command and task that can be used in the service dog training and especially for children with disabiities.
Service dog in training. Nina is at hairdresser's. She is on a ''place'' command. Service dogs have free access to public places. They should pay attention and listen to their handler. A service dog is a well behaved dog,a happy and balance dog with good socialization skills and willing to assist the person in need, indoors and outdoors.
Mike' s training (3 months old)
A crate /box is a helpful and very convenient equipment when it comes to dog training. If you introduce it correctly and positively you will find it one of the best equipments ever, that gives you more freedom and keeps your dog safe.You can use it for potty training, when your dog is not supervised by you,during your working hours,you can use it while traveling into the car to prevent accidents e.t.c.
